Travel makes one modest.
You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.
- Gustave Flaubert

Looking at the title: 359 degrees - Worker, Writer, World-traveller, are you wondering and asking yourself –
Why 359°? Why is 1° missing?
Here’s why.
The interpretation for “359°” has a double significance. A perfect perigon is represented by 360°. With reference to traveling 360° would mean “All around the world”. 359° is a reminder that a human can never be able to see and explore everything in this world. No matter how much you try, and how fast you travel, a little bit, at least 1°, will always be missing.
It is also analogous to daily work. It reminds that a human can never ever carry out a perfect assignment. No matter how much you try, how much you endeavour, a little bit, at least 1°, shall always be incomplete.
Stephan got the inspiration of “359°” during a business trip to Shanghai in 2011. While visiting a shopping mall on Sunday, he read “361°”. Astonished, he wondered how can it be? How can a perigon be more than 360°. Out of curiosity and with this question in mind, he began researching. Stephan found that 361° is the icon of an international Chinese sports brand. Their official company slogan is “One degree beyond”. From his 'technician' point of view and all-around-the-world travel experiences, Stephan came to a conclusion that a circle more than 360° is never ever possible. Thus, the icon “359°” was born.
